Dates go day, de, month: el cinco de mayo, el veinte de enero. Months are written with a small letter: enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre. The first of the month is el primero, though el uno is also common, especially in Spain: el primero de junio.
From thirty up, tens and units join with y: treinta y dos, cuarenta y cinco. Twenty-something is one word: veintiuno, veintidós. The tens are cuarenta, cincuenta, sesenta, setenta, ochenta, noventa. Exactly one hundred is cien; above it, ciento: ciento diez. A thousand is just mil, with no 'one'.
