Commands with a pronoun on the end: siéntate, levántate, dime

In a command, the pronoun joins the end of the verb: siéntate (sit down), levántate (get up), dime (tell me). Adding it shifts the stress, so an accent keeps the sound where it was: levanta → levántate, acuesta → acuéstate. For usted, it's se: siéntese.

  • ¡Levántate!Get up!
  • Dime.Tell me.

My routine: me levanto, me ducho, me acuesto

Daily routines use reflexive verbs: the action is done to yourself. Me levanto a las siete (I get up at seven), me ducho (I shower), me acuesto (I go to bed). The pronoun changes with the person: te levantas, se levanta, nos levantamos, se levantan.

  • Me ducho por la mañana.I shower in the morning.
  • Nos sentamos a la mesa.We sit at the table.
